Muqueca is a fish stew with tomatoes, red peppers, onions, coconut milk and palm oil. It's quite simple to prepare and goes very well with plain white rice. Although Muqueca comes from the North Eastern state of Bahia, it's eaten throughout Brazil.

there is a similar dish in asia,among the thai/siam-malay/indonesia cuisine.only that the asians add more herbs and spices to the touch in addition to coconut milk its called, fish white curry or ikan lemak

This is just like West African fish gravy minus the coconut milk and cilantro, but I guess that is what makes it Afro Brazilian! Will have to try... thanks for sharing!
