New " Place" app helps you find any place! Just either talk or type whatever you are looking for, and it will present a list of the places closest to you.The app then clearly speaks out the details of it and a map showing the address of the place. The app will also guide you to the place, using augmented reality! Just look at the street around you, and the app will project the place on your screen, together with the current distance.itunes.apple.com/us/app/place//id511858002?ls=1&mt=8

I am a European traveller. I will get onto the world once I have finished here - it will however involve me living to a record number of years!

When I was at school we were told not to bring the subject up with Germans. Now it does not make any difference at all. As a WW2 historian I do it all the time and most Germans show as much interest (or lack of it) as everyone else. Not only that but they usually go well out of their way to help you too.I have a very large site with historical material, most of which I was able to do in Germany with the help of local people!

@GR8DIVINE1 Germans actually handle Nazi-Germany quite open, sometimes to a point that is becomes annoying to hear it over and over again. The only ones who really avoid talking about it arecontemporary witnesses, and most of them are dead by now. Things like Srebrenica massacr, 'War Relocation Centers' like Manzanar in WW2, Stalins mass murders, Manifest Destiny ... you could continue this list forever. Every nation has it's dark ages, and most don't handle it as open as we do.

ok, these were 5 sights in two cities.... Germany can do much better then this!Visit the well known destinations, do all that they are worth it... But, if you stick only the generic tourist-itinerary you would miss out on so much, just don't do it. For starters: Do not just visit big cities the real beauty is mostly preserved in smaller towns (many of them were not destroyed in WW2).And: Take a hike! The countryside is just plain breathtaking.
