Where do you get black salt?
pindi2009 (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
Sir ...you just have to take cumin seeds and roast them on a medium high heat pan for about 30 seconds ....be aware of not to burn them ....otherwise they will tast bitter and get dark ....enjoy your cooking ...

Black salt is a dark pink colored rock salt used in Indian cooking that has a sulferous taste to it. It blends in well in dishes though. No other salt I've run into will substitute for it. I find it very good on boiled eggs myself although my wife can't stand it.

First warm day of spring here on the Central Coast of California, and this looks mighty fine to eat today! By the way, what is black salt?
