If you have dried red pepper (such as cayenne), you could substitute that for hot sauce. You don't absolutely have to use horseradish.--Betty :)

Yes, the horseradish sauce that I used is like Arby's Horsey Sauce. Thanks for commenting!--Betty :)

I make a simple cocktail sauce using ketchup, horseradish (the Extra Hot prepared grated horseradish roots you buy in a small jar), and lime juice. Throw in some garlic powder and a pinch of red pepper flakes. Might be the spicy that jilijub is looking for. I like it on boiled shrimp and fried chicken livers.

This is somewhat sweet, but also spicy. It's fairly standard--it may not be what you are looking for.--Betty :)

Is this sweet? I want spicy!

Yes, this is a notch more tangy than ketchup. I don't eat a lot of fried foods myself, but when I do, this is a wonderful accompaniment! Thanks for your nice comment!--Betty :)
