There are no rules in cooking! The sardines will have a different flavor and will not dissolve like the anchovies will but I am sure it would be just fine or leave the fish out entirely and use some diluted fish sauce or a some seafood broth with the desired amount of salt if any that you want! onioncube (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)

I can start using my anchovy from Costco. I didn't know what to do with it other than eat it by itself. I'll just do garlic, anchovy, fresh tomato and red hot pepper. MrEZCooking (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
