This is a great recipe, I used a lot of substitutes but it still came out great. I used: Turkey Chops vs. Pork Chops, Oil from pan & water vs. chicken broth or stock, and coconut milk vs. buttermilk. Nothing wrong with the original recipe those are just the ingredients I had. Thanks and good luck to anyone else to tries this recipe Ce2009ce (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)

I used chicken stock from cubes and the gravy turned out great. It's the flour that thickens it.About 1/4 cup of red wine really goes well in this too. angiepaola03 (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)

Can I use artificial chicken stock? As in, the one you buy as a dry powder and you just need to add boiling water to it. bingostar826 (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
So you just "throw it up" on the rice then, huh? Interesting choice of words
