@CheckM8King2 Hi there. Chicken breasts do not have enough fat to be in the crock pot that long. You might want to try keeping the skin on during cooking and then removing or using chicken thighs instead. Is there a way you can cook for only 4 hours? Or, try cooking the breasts in more of a sauce. I still think the lack of fat eventually makes it dry up.

I have problems cooking chigken breasts in my slow cooker. I cook the on low for about 8 hours but they alwasy come out a bit dry and void of taste. Any suggestions? thanks

@100inkersell I'm sorry you made that assumption. I realize I did not point it out. I use the Smart Chicken brand which is free range and organic.

& one more thing....you said it stays in the pot for 3 hrs.... how much electricity does it consume..... i ask coz i'm i'm new to using this....

that looks delicious.... i'm learning how to use this..... but i wan't to know how do you get that brown color on the chicken.....i'm going to try this tomorrow...thanks again....

@lcorinth I'm not entirely sure but I would try it (you can do this in the crock pot as well); just make sure to add the same type of vegetables and plenty of salt. When you make the crock pot chicken, try to go on the lower end of the time spectrum (3 hrs vs 8). The worse case scenario is that you lose 1/2 onion, a few carrots and celery stalks. Let us know the verdict.

This is great - I'm making it tomorrow. One question: Do you know if you can use the carcass afterwards to make a stock, or will all the gelatin have leached out of the bones during the slow-cooking process?

@klined Yes, I'll try to do more! Been busy cooking. It's either a 5.5 or 6qt. A 3+ lb chicken should fit in either. thanks, amy

what size is that crock pot? Iwonder if my 6qt can handle a whole chicken.PS: Get to work on more videos! What do you think we pay you for

@jmmcgee1 I would always recommend a starch/grain and a vegetable. Starches could be noodles, potatoes, a quinoa dish, mashed potato and cauliflower combo, roasted potatoes, kasha/toasted buckwheat, etc. If you like a steamed/boiled potato texture, put them in the crock pot for the last hour, depending upon how big.@ThumbsUPifUMakeMe I'm not sure (will check in the store next time I go) but think around 2.5-3 lb. You can cook for 8 hrs (on low) if it's 3.5lb but might be done earlier.
